Thing #21: Podcasts
I've always loved listening to the radio on the way to school when I used to commute, and any early morning I have in a car will always be spent listening to sports talk radio. Any chance I get, on long walks, or when I'm working out, I will listen to my ipod or a good podcast.
Below are a couple links to some podcasts I enjoy listening to.

Thing #19: Library Thing
I like this resource because you're able to see different books others have read, and get recommendations on others to read. As an after-High School born again reader, I'm looking forward to finding more interesting books other than text books.

Thing #20: YouTube
I use YouTube on almost a daily basis, always checking for highlights from the latest sports game, or a movie review like this one above. I think that it's a great resource because students would be able to make a video for a class project, then post it on YouTube for all to watch. A simple internet connection and a click of the mouse, and the entire classroom can see. no more bringing in a DVD copy, or VCR...YouTube takes care of that.
Also, whenever I was able to make a video project with my friends about the subject, I always remembered the material better. Some of my fondest memories from high school are making educational videos, because we were given creative freedom to make it funny, yet informative.

Thing #12- Rollyo
This could be a useful tool for teachers when they know of good, trusted sites that they want their students to use as resources for work done in their classroom.
Thing #12- Wordle

I think that wordle is a great way for students to be able to create a little mini-bio, allowing them to write some descriptions about themselves.

Benefits of Technology in the Classroom, pt.1
I wish my elementary school teachers had access to everything that is available now when I was in school. Growing up I never really enjoyed school and often found the lessons to be boring. I think that with the help of technology to keep my attention, I would've found school to be much more enriching and helpful. Now that I am planning to be a teacher, I feel that I can bring a student's viewpoint to a lesson and help make boring lessons become more exciting.
The first example that came to my head was teaching the multiplication tables. I remember learning multiplication tables boring and seemingly useless. By using different videos, just as one example, you can show the students how it can be useful in the real world. Also, you can use different slide shows and presentations on the computer to make it seem more entertaining and interactive.
